UCPB GEN goes to Singapore

UCPB GEN treated its top producers to a fun and enjoyable 3-day/2-night Singapore escapade last August 29-31, 2009. Dubbed "See Singapore as the you've never seen before!", Atty. Fred Tumacder Jr., Managing Director, and Mr. Butch Rosario, Senior Vice President, headed the delegation of 108 agents and brokers to this year’s incentive promo tour. The entire group stayed at the Orchard Hotel, located along Singapore's famous shopping and entertainment boulevard, Orchard Road.

The delegates went to the Merlion Park and had the group photo taken at this famous Singapore landmark. Aboard wooden boats, the delegates took the River Taxi and cruised along Singapore River for the 40 minute cruise to the vibrant Clarke Quay. Along the way, they admired the magnificent colonial buildings, grand old bridges, and the Esplanade. The cruise ended just before sunset in time for a delectable dinner at Chen Fu Ji Restaurant.

Most of the delegates attended the Sunday Mass at the historic Cathedral of the Good Shepherd. From Suntec City and amid rain showers, the group went on a 60-minute amphibious adventure onboard an authentic Vietnam warcraft that is a bus and a boat rolled into one for the tour of the city and harbor of Marina Bay.

Then everyone traveled to Mt. Faber and took a cable car ride to the idyllic resort island of Sentosa for an afternoon of thrills and excitement. At 90 meters above the ground, everybody got a magnificent aerial view of Singapore's skyscrapers and harbors. Inside Sentosa, an exhilarating lagoon ride awaited everyone at Cineblast, a state-of the art 4D theater. A hearty lunch was served at The Arches. A walk through the award-winning Images of Singapore gave the participants an overview of Singapore's colorful history, cultural traditions, and festivities.

Another great view at 131 meters above sea level is what the revolving Tiger Sky Tower offered the participants. Other attractions were the Luge and Skyride, Underwater World, Butterfly Park and of course the much awaited Songs of the Sea at the Siloso Beach area. The magical show with live cast and dramatic effects of pyrotechnics, brilliant lasers, special computer imaging and captivating music truly left everyone mesmerized and were still in awe during the sumptuous dinner at the Fortunate Restaurant.

A thrilling ride on the Singapore Flyer - the largest observation wheel, lunch at the Seafood Paradise Restaurant, and an afternoon of shopping capped the 3-day tour.

It was truly a fun and memorable long weekend and all the participants were thankful for the wonderful experience. "See Singapore as you've never seen before!" is indeed another successful and memorable trip for UCPB GEN agents and brokers.
