UCPB GEN turned 46 years old last January 29, 2009. The event commenced with a thanksgiving mass celebrated by Fr. Salvatore Putzu. A simple celebration for the momentous event highlighting the annual President’s Report and employee recognitions was held at the Executive Dining Room of the UCPB Building.
Atty. Francis Nob, Claims Head, and Ms. Flor Salita, Supervisor from Marine Department, hosted the program. Ms. Gia Lalu, Management Trainee, led the thanksgiving prayer. Ms. Marinella B. Gregorio, Reinsurance and Technical Services Head, delivered the opening remarks.
The Employee Relations Committee for the year 2009 headed by Mr. Emmanuel G. Bondoc was introduced.
For the President’s Report, Mr. Isabelo P. Africa discussed the overall operating results and noted on the factors that contributed to the company’s improved performance for the year 2008. All the employees intently listened as he gave the details and were joyous when he announced that UCPB GEN met the target income for the year. He also talked about the directions that the company will undertake for the year 2009.
Chairman Julita S. Manahan then urged all employees to challenge themselves more and continue performing better. She stated that the success of the company will be the success of each and every employee; and that the company will be nowhere near where it is right now had it not been for the dedication and hard work of all the employees. With UCPB GEN meeting its target for the year 2008, she announced the one-month Special Performance Incentive Bonus.
The Service Awardees, those who have rendered 10, 15 and 20 years of service were recognized for their loyalty and dedication to the company. Each received a Plaque of Appreciation and cash incentive.
